What lengths does the oak contemporary handrail come in?

It is supplied in standard UK handrail lengths and cut to suit your staircase, grooved to take square or metal spindles. Measure your run (including any landing) before ordering, and we can advise on joins for longer flights.

Do I legally need a handrail on my stairs?

In the UK, Building Regulations (Part K) require a handrail on at least one side of a flight with two or more risers, and on both sides if it is wider than 1 metre.

What height should the handrail be fitted at?

Between 900mm and 1000mm, measured vertically from the pitch line of the stairs or the floor of a landing.

Does it match your baserails and spindles?

Yes. The contemporary profile matches our contemporary baserail and our square and metal spindles, so the whole balustrade lines up.
