How many stair risers do I need?
This depends on the total rise of your flight and the riser height. Generally, you can use the following calculation to work out how many risers you'll need:
Number of Risers = Total Rise ÷ Riser Height
In the UK, the typical riser height is around 7 to 8 inches (about 175–200 mm).
Does a stair riser need to be glued or nailed?
For ultimate stability and durability, we recommend using both nails and a suitable adhesive to secure your oak riser firmly in place. This way, you can ensure that your risers and treads won't loosen and cause accidents on your staircase.
What are stair risers and treads?
